Link for Aid Myanmar and Chatrium Hotel Royal Lake Yangon have made a donation with the funds raised from the 2017/18 Music for Myanmar Charity Event to the NLD-AIDS Center to assist them in building a much-needed new wall for their complex (worth USD 2,500 / 3,700,000 MMK). Therefore, we would like to share our happiness and delight with our kind sponsors and business partners of The Music for Myanmar Charity Event 2017 and 2018.

The NLD-AIDS Center, established in 2002, is located in East Dagon Township, Yangon and runs the NLD’s HIV/AIDS prevention and care section under the supervision of Daw Phyu Thinn, who is now a lower house Member of Parliament from Mingalar Taung Nyunt constituency. There are 68 children in this Centre and a further 48 children, ranging from one-month old to 17 years old, attend the centre for their education.

About Music for Myanmar and Organizer Message: Music for Myanmar 2018 raised awareness and funds for deaf, orphaned and disadvantaged children in Myanmar with a fundraising evening with the star’s event starring the acclaimed Irish concert musicians, trumpeter Niall O’Sullivan and vocalist Shóna Henneberry, and a special Myanmar guest star, singer Chit Kaung.

Ms. Pamela McCourt Francescone, Founder of Link for Aid, a non-profit charity said,
“This is our fifth Music for Myanmar charity concert, and it will allow us to fund projects to make a meaningful difference to the lives of many hundreds of underprivileged children, also impacting their families and communities. The children we will be supporting with the profits from this event are from the Mary Chapman School for the Deaf in Yangon, the Parami Orphanage in Dala, the NAC-NLD Aids Centre in South Dagon Township and the Nawarat Monastic School in Shwe Pyi Thar.”

Ms. May Myat Mon Win, General Manager of Chatrium Hotel Royal Lake Yangon, explained why they chose to help as “Social and Environmental Responsibility are core values at Chatrium Hotel Royal Lake Yangon. We continuously support the safety, well-being, health and education of society in Myanmar.
